| Vic Cherikoff Food Services Pty Ltd has a number of experienced contract growers, dedicated collectors and established farmers regularly supplying its growing need for Australian native foods and food ingredients. It is recommended that your local Department of Agriculture be contacted for advice and the relevant publications from the Rural Industries Research and Development Corporation (www.rirdc.gov.au) be consulted prior to contacting Vic Cherikoff Food Services Pty Ltd for information. We also recommend a thorough study of the DOOR Marketing program offered by Gatton College, Toowoomba. However, if you have done this research and wish to join the experienced farmers and growers who are now reaping the rewards of their investments, please read on...
Register your interest To help sustain and expand the native food industry, we collect details of interested parties who are in a position to supply produce and invite those people to discuss procurement options as demand for native food products increases and or supply of particular foods falls short. Should you be in a position to supply us please contact us. Please note that samples will be required to be sent for approval for some species as well as clarification of packaging, freight and payment details before major orders are placed. Should you have any questions, please feel free to email us. The Australian native food industry is growing very quickly and needs can change so it is suggested that after your research and feasibility studies have been completed, you call us to confirm the most up to date status of your chosen crops. Note that the move to organic production has always been a major thrust of the industry and continues to open up markets and opportunities, particularly in Europe and the US. Your attention to conversion or registration is highly advised as organic ingredients show the greatest long term potential. In addition, production developments and on-going research includes tissue culture, hydroponics (using organic media), varietal selections eg high flavour forms of fruits, seedless fruits, low oxalate greens as well as the usual improvements of growth rates, hardiness and climatic tolerances. Marketing developments occur almost weekly and demand for a food can jump several hundredfold. These issues are managed as routine - contracting growers as required to meet orders as well as predicting and continually choreographing supply and demand. I hope that you will become part of this uniquely Australian industry. I look forward to having native Australian foods available to the world and having them recognised internationally as an essential part of our national cuisine. Regards Vic Cherikoff
