The Dukan Diet Made Easy and Doubly Effective
Dr Pierre Dukan, the French doctor who created the Dukan diet has developed an excellent diet program and one which has 5 million French people embracing it along with royalty, celebrities and millions of others in many countries. The gist of the regime, as they call it in France, is a high protein intake complemented with oat bran pancakes for added fibre.

Dr Dukan set up a protein only, rapid loss period of 3 to 10 days as the first phase of the Dukan plan.
Then vegetables are introduced on alternate days for the second phase of the program. This could be as short as a few months or up to a year or more, depending on the amount of weight needed to be lost.
The third phase of the Dukan diet introduces carbs and a more conventional food consumption but a protein only Thursday is recommended to keep the body in lean mode.

Protein takes lots of energy to assimilate and losing weight starts on about Day 2 and weight loss will continue for as long as carbs are avoided and energy intake is less than energy expended.
